Pi(e) Day.

I’m so excited because my first post in this corner is on Pi Day and it’s my first made from scratch item ever! (I guess that’s adulting at it’s finest haha)

March 14th is celebrated worldwide as Pi Day.

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159. Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point. As an irrational and transcendental number, it will continue infinitely without repetition or pattern. While only a handful of digits are needed for typical calculations, Pi’s infinite nature makes it a fun challenge to memorize, and to computationally calculate more and more digits. – piday.org

While I am not big on mathematics and the logistics of Pi’s infinite nature…I am however big on actual pies. Pies are one of my absolute favorite desserts (next to ice cream, cupcakes, and cheesecake). So how appropriate to celebrate Pi Day with actual pies! I will say, it was very tedious but the result was so worth the 7(ish) hours of whisking, mixing, baking, chilling, and dancing to be able to enjoy 4 delicious pies and cupcakes with sweet friends on this incredible day – that also happens to be Albert Einstein’s birthday!

I think I for-see some more baking stories in some future posts now that I realized that I can bake and how fun it can be when doing with friends.
